Low Cost Student Counselling

At Mana Counselling, we’re committed to making mental health care more accessible in our community. One way we’re doing this is through our Intern Therapy Program, which offers low-cost counselling with skilled graduate-level therapists.

What is an Intern Therapist?

An intern therapist is a student in the final stages of their master’s degree in counselling or psychology. They’ve finished all academic coursework and are now gaining hands-on experience through supervised clinical practice. As part of their program, they provide therapy sessions under the guidance of a registered clinical supervisor.

What You Can Expect

All intern therapists at Mana Counselling receive comprehensive supervision from the clinical director, Ryan Slobodian. This includes regular file reviews, feedback on sessions, and collaborative treatment planning, ensuring you receive quality care grounded in best practices.

Who They Work With

Intern therapists work with individuals from all walks of life. Common areas of focus include:

· Anxiety & depression

· Stress & burnout

· Relationship challenges

They use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and person-centered techniques to support your healing.
